"Agencies are responsible for ensuring that their staff are competent and confident in carrying out their responsibilities for safeguarding and promoting children's welfare."
National guidance for Child Protection in Scotland 2010, para 147
In Glasgow, child protection training is available to staff through a mixture of single and multi agency training.
Single Agency Training
Every agency has a range of courses tailored to the specific needs of their staff. For further information on these courses, speak to your line manager or see the Single agency CP training programmes page.
Multi Agency Training
Glasgow CPC has developed a range of courses that are delivered on a multi-agency basis. This training programme has been designed to complement the training that is delivered on a single agency basis. The courses cover subjects that are relevant to staff across agencies. The training provides staff an opportunity to meet, learn from each other, and share experiences and good practice.
All courses are free to agencies delivering services within Glasgow. For more information on multi-agency training, including a full list of courses available and details on how to access these courses, see Multi Agency training timetable.
Awareness Raising Training
The CPC does not deliver awareness raising training. However, we have a range of resources you can use to deliver this training within your own organisation. You can find information about these resources on the Awareness Raising Resources page.
