The CPC multi agency training is set out in four levels, in line with the Scottish Government Training Framework to meet the differing needs of staff in different roles.

Level one - Awareness Raising. Target group: All staff/volunteers who may come into contact with children in the course of their jobs, to raise awareness of the key issues in relation to CP, and how to recognise and respond to CP concerns.

Level two - Foundation. Target group: Workers who work regularly with vulnerable children, whether as their direct client or someone within the household of their client. It looks at CP procedures, and each agency’s roles and responsibilities within this, including participation in risk assessment and management, and inter agency co-operation
Level three - Investigation, Assessment, Prevention and Recovery. Target group: Workers who have a direct role in the child protection process, It looks in more detail at each aspect of the CP process, such as Investigation, Assessment, Prevention of Recurrence and Recovery.
Level four - Specialist and Advanced. Target group: Managers, and specialist areas, such as therapeutic work for children who have been abused, or specific vulnerabilities, such as drugs and alcohol, domestic abuse, etc.
Level one courses (awareness raising) are not delivered as part of the multi agency training programme, however training tools area available on request, for agencies to use to deliver their own training. Level two to four courses are delivered within the programme.
