Multi Agency Training

Glasgow Child Protection Committee is committed to the continuous development of inter-agency training and working to ensure that the services provided to children and their families are of the highest standard.

A training sub-group of the Child Protection Committee has been in place since 2002.  The sub-group is responsible for overseeing the multi agency training programme.  The training programme takes account of the diverse roles and responsibilities of each of the agencies involved in the field of child protection, the overlapping of these roles and responsibilities, and the need for consistent and standardised practice between the agencies.

The training on offer provides staff from all agencies the opportunity to meet, share experiences and train together jointly. This will allow them to  reflect on best practice and reinforce the training already undertaken in their own agencies in child protection procedures and guidance.  The courses are, wherever possible, delivered locally in each CHCP, to allow local working relationships to be strengthened.

Courses are delivered by a mix of presentations, and group and individual exercises, and are facilitated by the CP Training Co-ordinator, and a range of practitioner tutors from across the city.

If you have any questions, please contact the CP Training Co-ordinator on 0141 420 5862 or SW_GlasgowCPC@sw.glasgow.gov.uk

Training Framework

The training is set out in four levels, in line with the Scottish Government Training Framework to meet the differing needs of staff in different roles.  Further information on the Training Framework is available here.
