Sub Groups

Glasgow Child Protection Committee has a number of sub groups to take forward the work of the Committee on an ongoing basis.  These include:

Training
This is responsible for the development and delivery of inter-agency training initiatives and co-ordinator of single agency training pathways and action plans.

This group is chaired by Fiona Stevenson, Child Protection Lead Officer.

Vulnerable Children & Young People
This Group is responsible for the reviewing and implementation of the Vulnerable Children and Young People's protocol and accompanying guidance.

This group is chaired by Moira McKinnon, Principal Officer.

Quality Assurance
This group is responsible for ensuring sufficient auditing and evaluation mechanisms are in place so the effectiveness of strategic management and operation intervention can be measured.  The group are also responsible for the preparation for inspection of child protection services. 

This group is chaired by David Williams, Assistant Director, Social Work Services.

Communication                    

Glasgow CPC believes that partnership working can be enhanced by good communication between partner agencies and between professionals working together.  It also believes that good communication with children and young people, parents and carers, members of the public, and voluntary and community groups can contribute to the effectiveness of child protection activity.

This group is chaired by Fiona Stevenson, Child Protection Lead Officer.

 

Tripartite Group

This group will ensure where there are concerns re a child’s welfare/protection that there is timeous and appropriate sharing of information at an early stage between Health Social Work and Police to ensure continuous improvement in tripartite discussion process

Significant Case Reviews
This group meets as and when required to consider whether a review of inter-agency practice is necessary.  Panel will agree the remit of the review, identify membership of the working group.  The working group then undertakes the review and reports back to the Child Protection Committee.

This group is currently chaired by Pauline Hogan, Interim Chair for Significant Case Reviews.
